The pioneering work of former principal Jim Sporleder was featured in the award-winning documentary "Paper Tigers" as he rolled out a different approach to discipline at Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, Washington. The discoveries he made and the changes he witnessed became the foundations of his book, The Trauma-Informed School, and today he devotes all his energies to helping schools around the country become Trauma Responsive - places not only of learning, but of healing. In this episode, Sporleder explains why and how disciplinary policies and approaches across the nation must be changed.
